Grapevine Officer Injured in Major Accident Expected to Recover

BY GRAPEVINE WEEKLY STAFF

Grapevine, Texas. November 3, 2017

On October 19th, Senior Officer RJ Hudson was traveling south on SH-121 near Hall-Johnson Rd when an SUV swerved into his lane and hit his motorcycle.  Sr. Ofc. Hudson was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Grapevine with numerous internal injuries, broken bones, and lacerations.

Hudson’s recovery is progressing as expected, and doctors anticipate he could go home in the next four to six weeks.

The Hudson family personally wishes to thank all Grapevine Police personnel, including officers, dispatchers, jailers, chaplains, volunteers, and alumni association members, as well as Grapevine Fire personnel, police officers from surrounding cities, and Grapevine city leaders, who continue to provide support for Sr. Ofc. Hudson and his family.  They also appreciate the gifts from the Peace Officers’ Angels Foundation, GoFundMe donors, Remember the Fallen Heroes, Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA), Frisco Police Officers Association, and all of the Grapevine Police spouses, who continue to provide meals for everyone.

While Sr. Ofc. Hudson is still expected to make a full recovery, he also needs time to rest, and at this time, continues to ask for privacy from the media and public.
